About This Artwork
“Pelvic Trauma” is a breathtaking visual exploration of physical and emotional healing. The bright, vertical axis of light acts as a focal point of strength and resilience, while the surrounding ribbons of colour twist and bend, representing pain, vulnerability, and the complex process of recovery. The contrast between the warm, flesh-toned light and the cool, deep purples creates a sense of tension and release. It is a brave, honest piece of art that validates the reality of trauma while finding beauty in the journey through it.
The Artisan Process: Digital Layering & Light
These are not AI-generated images. Every piece in the Luminous Art Collection is a masterful digital composition created by Michael Paul Bennett.
The process begins with original photographic elements. Using Adobe Photoshop, Michael converts the images into Smart Objects and begins a meticulous layering process. He applies the Mezzotint filter—which includes long strokes—alongside distortion techniques like Twirl to create a rich, textured base. Next, he adjusts the colour balance of these individual layers and changes their blending types. Finally, Michael takes the artwork into Adobe Lightroom to deep-dive into the shadows, achieving that signature deep black background and vibrant colour pop. Because of this painstaking manual process, every piece is a unique fusion of photography and digital artistry.
