About This Artwork
“Contours” is a breathtaking study in fluid dynamics and luminous form. The composition is incredibly smooth, with the lines of light folding over one another like silk or molten glass. The bright, central focal point acts as a glowing peak, while the surrounding waves seem to flow down and around it in perfect harmony. It is a warm, elegant, and deeply captivating piece that brings a sense of movement and life to any space.
The Artisan Process: Digital Layering & Light
These are not AI-generated images. Every piece in the Luminous Art Collection is a masterful digital composition created by Michael Paul Bennett.
The process begins with original photographic elements. Using Adobe Photoshop, Michael converts the images into Smart Objects and begins a meticulous layering process. He applies the Mezzotint filter—which includes long strokes—alongside distortion techniques like Twirl to create a rich, textured base. Next, he adjusts the colour balance of these individual layers and changes their blending types. Finally, Michael takes the artwork into Adobe Lightroom to deep-dive into the shadows, achieving that signature deep black background and vibrant colour pop. Because of this painstaking manual process, every piece is a unique fusion of photography and digital artistry.
