About This Artwork
“Mind Meld” is a stunning visual representation of connection and synergy. The fiery orange and stark white lines twist and interlock, creating the illusion of two minds leaning in to share a single, profound thought. The centre of the image features an intricate, almost mechanical texture, while the outer ribbons of light give it a sleek, modern, three-dimensional finish.
The Artisan Process: From Bridge to Abstract
These are not AI-generated images. This piece began as an original photograph of the Millennium Bridge in Newcastle, captured by Michael Paul Bennett.
Using Adobe Photoshop, he converted the image into a Smart Object and began a meticulous layering process. He applied the Mezzotint filter—which includes long strokes—alongside distortion techniques like Twirl to break the bridge apart and create these fluid shapes. Finally, he adjusted the colour balance of the layers and used Adobe Lightroom to deep-dive into the shadows, achieving that signature deep black background and vibrant colour pop.
