About the Seven Sisters and the Area:
The Seven Sisters are a group of ancient beech trees located on Copt Hill near Houghton le Spring, Tyne and Wear. The site is an ancient burial mound, or bowl barrow, dating back to the Mesolithic period, around 7000 years ago. Originally, there were seven beech trees, but now only five and a half remain. The area is a designated monument due to its significant historical importance. The Seven Sisters offer a peaceful and scenic spot for visitors, with waymarked paths and benches providing opportunities to enjoy the stunning views and the tranquil atmosphere. The golden hour light adds a magical touch to this already enchanting location, making it a perfect subject for photography.
