About This Artwork
“Inner Turmoil” is a breathtaking exploration of psychological conflict and complexity. The composition is split down the middle, representing the clash between calm and chaos. On the left, cool white and silver ribbons flow smoothly, suggesting clarity. On the right, a storm of sharp, angular lines in red, orange, and blue explodes outward, representing anxiety, passion, or fractured thoughts. The dark central axis anchors the piece, making it a powerful visual metaphor for the human mind.
The Artisan Process: Digital Layering & Light
These are not AI-generated images. Every piece in the Luminous Art Collection is a masterful digital composition created by Michael Paul Bennett.
The process begins with original photographic elements. Using Adobe Photoshop, Michael converts the images into Smart Objects and begins a meticulous layering process. He applies the Mezzotint filter—which includes long strokes—alongside distortion techniques like Twirl to create a rich, textured base. Next, he adjusts the colour balance of these individual layers and changes their blending types. Finally, Michael takes the artwork into Adobe Lightroom to deep-dive into the shadows, achieving that signature deep black background and vibrant colour pop. Because of this painstaking manual process, every piece is a unique fusion of photography and digital artistry.
