About This Artwork
“Fractured Mind” is a breathtaking exploration of psychological duality and internal conflict. A sharp vertical line splits the canvas perfectly in two. On the left, warm, aggressive strokes of red and gold rage like a fire. On the right, cool, calculated lines of electric blue radiate like a network of synapses. The intense collision of these two worlds creates a powerful visual tension, making it a bold, thought-provoking statement piece.
The Artisan Process: Digital Layering & Light
These are not AI-generated images. Every piece in the Luminous Art Collection is a masterful digital composition created by Michael Paul Bennett.
The process begins with original photographic elements. Using Adobe Photoshop, Michael converts the images into Smart Objects and begins a meticulous layering process. He applies the Mezzotint filter—which includes long strokes—alongside distortion techniques like Twirl to create a rich, textured base. Next, he adjusts the colour balance of these individual layers and changes their blending types. Finally, Michael takes the artwork into Adobe Lightroom to deep-dive into the shadows, achieving that signature deep black background and vibrant colour pop. Because of this painstaking manual process, every piece is a unique fusion of photography and digital artistry.
